Governor Glenn Youngkin Launches Building Blocks for Virginia Families

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin has announced significant early learning and child care investments. The Building Blocks for Virginia Families initiative will include funding to ensure access to high-quality early childhood programs for every low-income family currently receiving public support and a scholarship program and incentives to reduce teacher shortages, among other attributes. 

In his announcement. Youngkin referenced the Prenatal-to-3 Policy Impact Center’s report, Early Investment, a Lifetime of Returns: Articulating the Value of Early Childhood Investments in Virginia. He said the report’s findings on the return on learning investments informed the development of his new initiative.
