Advancing Evidence-Based Early Childhood Policymaking: Great Progress, Great Opportunities

December 9-11, 2024 in Denver, CO

The Prenatal-to-3 Policy Impact Center at Vanderbilt University, with the support of the National Collaborative for Infants and Toddlers (NCIT), will host a one-of-its-kind event to bring together early childhood leaders from across the country to advance evidence-based policies for young children and their families. We welcome leadership teams from every state and the District of Columbia (initial preregistration closed 8/27).

The event will kick off with a celebration of the laudable progress states have made over the past several years. Still, as you know, there is much left to do. The field’s ability to work collaboratively toward common goals will fuel more effective efforts. Therefore, the rest of the event will offer a unique opportunity for state teams to:

The best news of all? Following the event, teams will have access to targeted supports free of charge—such as advocacy training, data analysis, in-service trainings, and much more.

The ideal state team will be inclusive, ideally representing the diversity of the state’s population. Teams can include up to 5 advocates, policymakers, state administrators, and/or business leaders representing the fields of maternal and child health, economic and family supports, or early learning.

The Center will cover attendees’ hotel stays for the evenings of December 9 and 10 and provide dinner the evening of the 9th and breakfast and lunch on the 10th and 11th.

Initial pre-registration is closed. State teams are currently being developed and will be notified by mid-September. Once teams of up to 5 are established, letters will go out inviting prospective attendees to formally register for the event.
