Paid Sick Leave

Paid medical leave policies require employers to offer employees paid time off for short-term medical needs. Many employers offer paid sick leave in the absence of a legislated mandate, but some states and cities have adopted their own policies. States vary in terms of who is covered and how much time off must be provided.
