JoHanna is a Research Associate at the Prenatal-to-3 Policy Impact Center. In her role, she works with community partners to conduct rigorous and informative policy and program evaluations to improve the well-being and opportunities for families and children. Her research background is in early academic development and intervention.
Prior to this role she worked as a Graduate Research Assistant for the Policy Impact Center primarily supporting child care access and early literacy evaluation projects. Also prior to this role, JoHanna worked in K-12 schools as an intervention specialist where she used evidenced-based methods to teach students with a variety of academic and behavioral needs. Her transition from practitioner to researcher began as a Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching Research recipient where she conducted research on effective retention strategies for secondary school students in New Delhi, India.
JoHanna holds a Master’s of Education in International Education Policy and Management from Peabody College at Vanderbilt University. She also holds a Master’s of Education in Multicultural Special Education from Mount St. Joseph University and a Bachelor’s in Integrated Language Arts from Ohio University. JoHanna is passionate about travel, coffee, and learning about other cultures.
